History of Holistic Education

During the latter part of the 20th century, there was a shift in education from progressive thinkers like Francis Parker and John Dewey, and before that Maria Montessori and Rudolf Steiner.

There was the belief that education should not just prepare a person for a life of work, but also cultivate other aspects of the developing child.
